Will Former Teen Mom Jenelle Evans Ever Get Her Kids Back
Former Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans and her husband, David Eason, were in a Columbus County, North Carolina courthouse twice this week as they continue to fight for custody of their children. Their most recent visit was to meet with the judge in the case and to see their kids for the first time in three weeks, and it appears they might have a chance to bring their kids back to The Land.
Last month, Child Protective Services removed Maryssa, 11, Kaiser, 4, and Ensley, 2, from Evans and Eason’s home after Eason shot and killed the family dog. Maryssa is currently living with her maternal grandmother, Kaiser is with his dad, Nathan Griffith, and Ensley is living with Jenelle’s mom, Barbara, who also has custody of Evans’ 9-year-old son Jace.

CPS placed the kids with other relatives after a family court judge ruled Jenelle and David weren’t providing a proper and safe living environment for their children. However, this is just a temporary arrangement. CPS has to argue their case and prove their claims that the kids aren’t safe living in Jenelle and David’s home, and this could take months.
According to The Hollywood Gossip, legal experts say that the longer the case drags on, the better chance Jenelle and David have of getting their kids back. Different lawyers are representing Jenelle and David, and they could be dragging out the custody battle and making the process more difficult as a strategic move.
But, if their goal is to win back primary custody, David needs to learn how to control his emotions. He has already acted out in front of the courthouse by threatening Griffith for talking to the media and having words with Maryssa’s grandmother.

This week’s visit with their kids was the first time Jenelle and David had seen them since June 4th. Griffith brought Kaiser to the courthouse for the visit, and he has made it clear that he doesn’t want his son living with Eason because he believes – like many others – that he is an unstable, violent human.
The case is ongoing.
