Following the defamation trial against her ex-husband Johnny Depp, Amber Heard decided to escape from the spotlight by taking refuge in the Spanish island of Mallorca.

The famous actress was spotted by cameras in Costitx, a small town of 1,300 habitants.

According to her neighbors, Heard has rented a house in the island since the early summer.

As reported by El Pais, the property is owned by the family of former president of the regional parliament, Maria Antonia Munar, who sentenced to 14 years in prison for corruption.

The house is located in the center of Costitx, with neighbors having seen Heard walking around, carrying her daughter Oonagh Paige in a baby carrier.

What have Amber Heard's Mallorca neighbors said?

"I've had her next to me a couple of times, but I didn't know who she was until I was told," a young resident told El Pais.

"She's very normal on the street and doesn't hide at any time."

Heard travelled to the Spanish island along with her partner, the film photographer Bianca Butti.

"She walks with her daughter and goes to the park," another neighbor said.

"She leads a very normal village life, as if she were a native."

Amber Heard's alias

According to Diario de Mallorca, Heard adopted a new identity to go unnoticed in the island.

The famous actress uses as an alias the name Martha Jane Canary or most commonly referred to as 'Calamity Jane'.

She lost her trial to Johnny Depp and was ordered to pay him at least 10m dollars, money which she doesn't have.

Making matters worse is the fact that Hollywood has turned its back on her, with her role in 'Aquaman' even uncertain, following a strong backlash from movie fans, who tended to side with Depp during the very high-profile court case.
