Kate Middleton's Pastel Green Regencycore Dress Had Bustier Detailing
Getting caught in the rain has never looked so good — except for maybe in The Notebook à la Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling. On Friday, Kate Middleton stepped out on day seven of her and Prince William's Platinum Jubilee Royal Tour of the Caribbean in a pastel Regencycore dress for a visit to Sybil Strachan Primary School in Nassau, Bahamas.
The duchess braved the rain with a smile on her face as she carried an umbrella to protect her spring-inspired outfit. Kate wore a pastel green Self-Portrait midi-dress that pulled inspiration from the TikTok-beloved Regencycore trend — ushered in to the fashion world thanks to Bridgerton. The chiffon dress featured puff sleeves and a pleated top with bustier detailing and underwire. A cinched midsection flowed into a loose skirt with seams along the hips. She paired the feminine dress with white pointy-toed pumps. Her hair was worn in its signature bouncy curls and she accessorized with gold drop earrings.
While Kate's outfit certainly stole the show, Prince William tagged along in an equally seasonal look that included baby blue trousers, a navy blazer, and a tie in a similar hue.
The two have been traveling throughout Belize, Jamaica, and the Bahamas for the controversial tour. Throughout their time in the countries, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have faced backlash due to the monarchy's past with colonialism. The royal couple even had to cancel one event in Belize when local residents protested their visit. The local news station, Belize's Channel 7, explained the reason behind the outrage.
"The problem is — it's in Indian Creek village — which has been in open conflict with Flora and Fauna International, which owns an adjoining, contested property," the outlet reported. "More than that, Prince William is a patron of that conservation organization."
