Emily refuses to diet. "I like to keep it really balanced to give my body energy and also be healthy," she told Harper's Bazaar. In the morning she starts with black coffee and a pastry and follows it up with a light lunch. "Lunch is usually a salad or a sandwich, If I'm on set, I'll have catering, but I'm well behaved with that stuff. It's easy to go crazy—they know how to feed you." Her favorite meal of the day? "Dinner is my time to be social and catch up with people," she said. "I love this Italian restaurant downtown called Bestia. It's kind of fun, and they have good cocktails and wine."
Emily isn't one of the many stars who swear by a plant-based diet. "I'm a carnivore. I really like to eat meat. I crave iron," she told Elle.
One of the ways that Emily ensures she is eating healthy, is by cooking her own food. "I cook a lot, so that really helps," she said. "You know how much salt and sugar and all of that kind of stuff you are putting in your body."
"I am not a big gym person," Emily confessed to InStyle. "I don't have a trainer…I'm just not a crazy fitness person. I'm definitely an outlier in the industry," she added to the New York Times.
Emily prefers getting her exercise in by staying active. "I really like being outside and doing yoga, so I do a lot of hiking in L.A. and I have a yoga studio really close to my house that I go to like once a week," she told InStyle.
Emily loves drinking her veggies "For me, it's about feeling good about what you eat," she told the New York Times. "I do love turmeric and beet juices. It's so L.A., you can't avoid it."
