10 Things You Didnt Know about Will Kopelman

Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman made an adorable couple for so many years. That’s just part of the reason the world was so shocked when the two called it quits after four years of marriage and two darling babies together. They seemed like such a low-key, happy family without much drama or attention on themselves, but their marriage did not work out. Unfortunately, that happens from time to time. Drew Barrymore, we think, will be just fine. She’s a famous movie star and she has a good job, she loves her kids and she’s pulled herself up and out of the trenches like no one else. That makes us wonder about Will Kopelman, though; will he be able to overcome this split and move on with his life? We don’t know that much about him, but we thought we might find out a bit more and see if he has that kind of personality.

He’s into art

Not only is Will Kopelman into art, it’s his business. He is an art consultant. For many, that sounds suspiciously like one of those imaginary jobs that wealthy young men and women claim to have while they really just travel the world on their parents’ dime, but it’s a real job. He actually is the man behind the sale of a beautiful Bronze Cannon from the historic British Battleship, the HMS Victory. The ship sank in 1744, and he is the man who negotiated the sale.

He loves family

When it comes to family, Will Kopelman finds nothing else more important. His kids and his parents and his sister are the most important to him in the world, and so is his soon-to-be ex-wife, Drew Barrymore. Even though they are no longer together, he has respect for her in a way that only someone who shares children with a person can do.

His dad is in the fashion business

Have you heard the name Arie Kopelman? If you know anything about fashion and especially about luxury brand Chanel, you have. Arie Kopelman is the man behind Chanel, at least he was. He is the former CEO of the company, and he did wonderful things with the brand. It’s a fashionable family he’s got, and his role in the fashion industry only helped them along the way.

He’s a New Yorker

Will Kopelman was born and raised in New York City and did not often leave. Of course, when he went to boarding school and college he had no choice. Additionally, he eventually moved to Los Angeles, which is often a big adjustment for those who were born and raised in New York City. He seemed to like it, however; and he did meet his future wife and the mother of his two beloved children here, so it is not all bad in terms of adjustment for him.

He was a boarding school kid

It’s a fairly common misconception that kids raised in wealthy families attend boarding school. It’s simply not the truth. Not everyone with wealthy, important families is shipped off to attend the best schools while their parents are home attending charity functions and benefits, work parties and social obligations. Some wealthy parents choose to keep their kids home and parent them. Not Will Kopelman’s family. They send him to boarding school at the very exclusive Taft Boarding school in Connecticut.

He had the best bachelor pad in LA

Before he was the man who married Drew Barrymore, Will Kopelman was a man about town. He lived in Los Angeles and he was making a name for himself in the art world. He recognizes and appreciates beautiful things, historic things and the potential in things. That’s why it should come as no surprise that it’s his LA bachelor pad – former – that was voted the best bachelor pad in the city back in 2007. His décor, his artistic eye and his deep pockets helped make all that possible.

He loves being a father

All good men love being a father. They love their kids and they would do anything for their kids. Will Kopelman is one of those men. He adores his little ones, and nothing will ever change that. Despite the fact that he is no longer married to their mother, he will continue to be a good father and be very actively present in their lives.

He’s well educated

In addition to attending the prestigious Taft in Connecticut, Will Kopelman also attended a great university. He is a graduate of Boston University. It’s not considered Ivy League, but it’s considered one of the best schools in the country, and he went through his education there with relative ease. He learned much about art and its history here, and that’s probably one of the biggest reasons he adores the school so much.

He has his own life

For more than a year before Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman decided to announce that they’d split up and were ending their marriage, he and his wife lived apart. They did not reside in the same home, they did not do the same things, and they had their own lives outside of one another. We don’t know if the couple did this as a way to see if they could work on things, perhaps by missing one another or if they simply couldn’t stand to live together anymore and just needed the space. Whatever their own personal decisions, this is one that shocked the world.

He’s a friendly man  

We know that Will Kopelman was raised right, because he has no problem spending Mother’s Day with not only his own mother, but also with his ex-wife. She joined in the festivities with Will Kopelman, his mother and his family and their kids on Mother’s Day 2016, and we love to see that. We love to see a couple who might not want to be married to one another actually do the amazing thing and spend time together as a family to recognize that it’s still important to everyone.
